We invite you to join us for a life-changing worship experience. Our doors are always open to anyone seeking to grow in their faith, find hope, and experience the power of God's love. Interested in membership at Lake Waccamaw Methodist Church? Pastor Chris can answer your questions or help you learn more about being in Discipleship at church. There will be an opportunity to join during worship services each month. Contact Pastor Chris .

1. Deepen holiness, not just more activity. One goal this year is not to just do more church, but to become more like Christ, growing in holiness of heart and life through prayer, scripture, and obedience.
2. Form disciples beyond Sunday. We commit to discipling believers who worship faithfully, study scriptures deeply, serve generously, and live out faith beyond Sunday.
3. Strengthen community. Watching over one another in love and walking together in accountability, encouragement, and grace.
4. Prioritize spiritual fruit over numerical growth.
We trust God with the numbers and focus our energy on transformation. We will not measure this year by attendance charts, but by surrendered hearts, and lives shaped by Jesus. Attendance counts heads. Discipleship changes hearts. This year, we choose the deeper work where lives will bear the fruit of the Spirit in homes, workplaces, and our communities.
5 Equip every believer to see themselves as sent people, called to ministry wherever God has placed them.
6. As a Global Methodist Church, we step into the new year rooted in historic faith, confident in Biblical truth, and committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ who transform the world.
At Lake Waccamaw Methodist Church, we believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God. We believe in salvation by God's grace as a gift, received through faith in Jesus Christ. Worship is central to the life of the church, focusing on glorifying God through Word, sacrament, prayer, and praise. We are committed to the Great Commission, calling believers to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28: 19-20). As a Global Methodist Church, our beliefs are reflected in the GMC Book of Doctrine and Discipline--see https://globalmethodist.org/books-of-doctrines-and-discipline/

God created men and women to live in community, knowing that we need each other for support, encouragement, and fellowship. When Christians come together for worship and small groups, we mature in our Christian walk. God gave us clear instruction in Hebrews 10:25 (CEB) "Don't stop meeting together with other believers, which some people have gotten into the habit of doing. Instead, encourage each other, especially as you see the day drawing near."
Jesus knew He was going to suffer, die, and then triumphantly rise again as the sacrificial lamb for all of us! He loved us so much that He made sure He prepared us for His return to the right hand of God by establishing the church. Ephesians 19-22 (CEB) gives us clear guidance: "So now you are no longer strangers and aliens. Rather, you are fellow citizens with God's people, and you belong to God's household. As God's household, you are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. The whole building is joined together in him, and it grows up into a temple that is dedicated to the Lord. Christ is building you into a place where God lives through the Spirit."
When we join together and get involved in the local church, we share our gifts and talents in service. As we are reminded in James 2:26, "As the lifeless body is dead, so faith without actions is dead." (CEB). Ask how you can get involved and know that you are valuable to the body of Christ and the local Lake Waccamaw Methodist Church body of believers.
Paul reminds us in Romans 12:4-5 (CEB) "We have many parts in one body, but the parts don't all have the same function. In the same way, though there are many of us, we are one body in Christ and individually we belong to each other."
